Candace Flowers

The prompt that I reviewed was about pugs. I chose this topic because I have a pug. I love them. Seeing that I have a pug I already know some information about them. It was some information that I did not know that I learned while reading the essays. I learned that the first records of the pug were in China. The Buddhist monks in Tibet had them as pets. Pugs also became the official dog of the House of Orange after one saved the life of the Prince of Orange. In the essay that was ranked number one, the author used excellent grammar. The essay had a very good flow. The author talked about many topics that one would like to know about the pug. They started off with background information and worked their way up to other details about the dog. In other essays I observed that the essays did not contain as much information and the essay that was ranked number one. The author jumps into details about the dog without telling you any important information before hand. If I had to write about this topic I would first do research to find out the dogs background information. I would then break up the essay and talk about the different attributes of the breed. I think Pugs are the best breed in the world so it would not be hard for me to write about them.
