helium:Family cooking on a budget: Tips and tricks : luis amurrio

the prompt that i reviewed was family cooking on a budget: tips and tricks. What i learned from this prompt was that even the best of foods can be affordable to any person that has a reasonable job and is open minded to trying new types of food and having a fun and tasty experience. I also learned that most restaurants usually are willing to drop the price a little bit if you treat them with respect and never leave a small tip! For the best essays the thing that most showed me why they were better than most others was the flow of the ideas and how he was able to descriptively touch each topic he or she puts in his or her thesis and another interesting thing i found was the grammar was flawless. For the lesser essays the things that i found were what made them so bad or hard to understand were that they were not able to describe each topic and be able to make it flow nicely as well as to the poorly corrected grammar. I would approach this topic descriptively and grammatically good cause the way the best essays were formed were flawless and were by far the most interesting essays that i have read on a topic and it was able to completely take my attention to the topic.

Kody Kuhn's Last Helium

I chose to review this prompt "The Best weather for deer hunting " I learned some new information on hunting times and the best weather times to hunt. I like to hunt in the snow to because its the best and allows you to track the animals and preservers the meat. All of the essays were good. The lower level essays just could have used better grammar and more details. I would write on my experiences that I have had in the woods and give people advice. Also I would tell you how to improve you hunting skills.

HELIUM~The Danger of Chocolate to Dogs-Justin Katz

I chose to review the prompt "The Dangers of Chocolate to Dogs". I learned how severe the effects of chocolate on a dog can be. I was unaware that chocolate was that toxic to them. The author organized the paper well and didn't go off topic at all. The other essays didn't seem like the authors' opinions had supporting facts. If I wrote a response to this topic, I would have supporting facts cited throughout my paper to show that these are well known facts.

Candace Flowers Helium Betta Fish Facts

The prompt that I reviewed was about Betta fish and how to care for them. By reading this I learned that Betta fish are Siamese fighting fish. If you put two of them in the same bowl, they will fight. You can put two or more fish in a tank if you have dividers in between them. For the best essay, the author used very good details and examples. He talked about how he personally took care of the Betta fish he had and the techniques that he used. In the other essays, some of the mistakes that I saw was the information was not organized well like in the better essays. The essays had good detail but they do not flow together. If I had to write an essay on this topic I would talk about Betta fish history and how to care for them. I would also talk about where you could purchase them if someone was interested in buying them.

Helium- Lauren Blake Proffitt- Caring for African Cichlids

While on Helium today, I read three essays about caring for African Cichlids. The top ranked essay was not the best essay I have ever read but it definitely deserved it place in this competition. I really learned a lot more than I already knew about the subject. What intrigued me most was the particular placement of the rocks. The first essay did have a few typo's but overall it stuck to the topic at hand and was very useful with the information given. The author used some personal experience but only as an example of what they were trying to explain. The second essay I read was the middle ranked essay. It seemed to me to be what the author specifically did to take care of their cichlids. It wasn't very clear if the authors pet cichlids were African or from another section of the family. Therefore, I am not quite sure that I could say this essay redeemed itself by staying on topic. Mostly, I find it distasteful that the writer would drop brand names left and right. I understand that she obviously finds these products to work the best but it was slightly off topic. The lowest ranked essay was very unorganized. It didn't even start on topic so it most certainly did not stay there. It also was very unhelpful on the care of any type of cichlid let alone on the care of an African cichlid. If I were to write an essay on this topic, I would first explain what is the best tank environment for the cichlid and then proceed to explain the maintenance for the tank and the fish. I would include diet and any special needs such as lighting.

Why Brett Favre needs to make up his mind !- Bradley King- Helium

For this Helium post I reviewed a article regarding the retirement of one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all time, Brett Favre. From reading the articles I learned that Brett Favre really loves the game of football. A few very good points were made regarding his retirement. First many people think that Favre should retire not because we dont think he can make it another season, but for the sake of his family. There were only two essays for this topic, but the first one was by far better than the second. The author of the first one used organization throughout his essay, which made it flow very smooth. The author also gave very good reason to back up what he had to say. The author of the second essay was the total opposite. She did not organize well at all, and did not give many example to back up what she had to say. If I was going to write something on the topic, I would start out by giving Favre some credit for being so loyal to the game. I mean for someone to announce retirement and then take it back really has love for the game.

should the US continue to participate in the War in Iraq?

http://www.helium.com/debates/65947-should-continue-participate-emwarem/side_by_side?page=30

Yes - 30 of 39 by Shawn Schleicher. This person started off as though they had picked the wrong side in that they were downing the war. Turns out they are indeed against the war in Iraq, but feel it is a more complicated question than it seems. one of the true issues is how exactly should we go about removing our troops from Iraq. Should we take them all out at once? Should we one by one slower stop sending troops and continue to take some out? It is a hard subject, this person has also covered the fact that what will those countries over there think if we take such measures? personally I am tired of hearing about this war with no results, and all the money being spent every mount is astronomically ridiculous.

No - 30 of 52 by Joseph Brewer. This guys seems to know what he is talking about, he mentions how the government has lied to us multiple times about the reason for going to war in Iraq starting with 9/11 adding the it was conducted by Osama and Saddam who participate in two different types of Islamic religion. I myself being in fifth grade at the time herd about the official clam of war on Iraq at the Nascar race and was excited that we were going to fight for our country and show the wrongdoings of others would not stand. As the years have gone on though I have supported our troops and wished for their safe return but in no way support the war. I feel the country did lie to us and is still lying to us. I have personally watched a video on YouTube called Lose Change, It is a documentary on 9/11 and what happened and the people involved, It really made me sit and think why the government would hide some of the things that are stated they have neglected to release. Most importantly why would they inflict such pain on their own country just to gain a little bit of money to later lose in a ridiculous war.

If you have not had time to research this video and see how much of it is possably true I don't want to believe it, yet i feel it to be compelling evidence easy fixed by the release of a few videos and information by the government. If you have not seen it i suggest you find 90 minutes to do so.

Today the prompt I read today was about how to deal with an ob-noxious coworker. I learnt many different things after reading these prompts, I learnt that there are many different ways you can go about avoiding the co-worker depending on how bad the situation is. The best way I perceived to solve the problem would be to approach the person face to face, state that you know there are some tensions between and acknowledge your part in the problem. The writer in the best essays used simple solutions to resolve the problems. Supporting those ideas with examples. The writer in the leaser essays didn’t give solutions to solve the problem.

Cherilyn Hallyburton Helium 9/30/09

The prompt I read on Helium today was about trying to pick out the best gaurd dog for a family. The first article i read was very good it even gave questions for you to think about if you were to get a "gaurd" dog. I learned from this article that not all types of dogs are good to have because of the way they can grow up to be. From reading the least one I understand, why it was the least because they even spelled the name of there dog wrong. They came off with a story that didn't make since and through out the story all the did was talk about that one type of dog.

Eric Jackson Helium

The prompt I read today for my helium was how to tell if a girl likes you. I learned a lot about this actually. This subject has a lot to do with non verbal signals. You can tell a lot about if someone likes you by what they do how they look at you and make contact with you. You can learn a lot about what someone thinks of you by just the way they look at you. For the best essays the author used key points of mature attraction to show how people are attracted to other people. For the lesser essays the author used a middle school sense of this. They told about how they get their friends to talk to you and giggle and write notes. This attraction never last because it is very immature. If I was to write about this prompt I would use my best examples of experience and would also agree with the best essay that it has a lot to do with non verbal signs and how things progress as opposed to giggling in high school

Helium - Kasey Talley

Reasons for befriending someone on Facebook i feel is an article in which practically everyone in the world should read. I found the article very helpful because I found myself recently wondering whether to befriend my uncle. I know that typically he is not going to know how to use it but yet he is my uncle. Then again I saw his birthday year 1944 I totally lost it then I believe if you were born before the wonderful 1960's you probably shouldn't have a Facebook because when you were growing up you were practically writing with feathers. That is my personal opinion. I found the articles very informative, and helpful.

understanding emo

This artcle caught my eye because before reading it i wasnt sure exactly what emo was. before reading this article i had always just thought as emo as people who were very emotional and sometimes cut themselves. According to the article this isnt completely incorrect but theres alot more to it that i wasnt aware of. for instince emo is actually an extreme psychological problem which i thought of it as people making a statement or rebelling from something. also alot of the psychological problem is thought to be caused from drug problems. The heart of the problem is depression, a very extreme depression at that. the writer thinks the problem needs to be addressed my school teachers and peers to help this group of young people and i completely agree. people need to be aware of the problem to be able to hAlign Rightelp "emo"tional teens. The writer looks at the mass depression in our country as a kind of 21st century plague that needs much considering to the reason for the problem.

I reviewed a prompt on Easy ways to prioritize your time among work, school, and fun. I learned that organization is the key to everything. You should get either a planner or u can use your iphone, if you have one. In the best prompt it gave a lot of good information about the topic and was organized very well. I the worst prompt there was not as much information about the topic and there was only one page. If I were to write and essay in response I would break up the topic into a couple of paragraphs and write a lot of information in each paragraph.

poindexter Helium

this blog talks about Michael Jackson and how he beacame a pop icon and why he is considered to be the "King of Pop."in the first artical it talks about he was brought up and what he wit through as a child. it gives a brief summary of how you became known as the king of pop and whast he had to go through to get there. the last artical it talks more about is death and not about hime being a icon. when the author do talk about him being a icon its more staright to the point and it dont really give a lot of information on how he became the person that he was before he died. the middle artical it more the like the first. it give information about his child hood and how he was brough up. it also talked about hos death and different dedicatioons that peopel did to honor him and his music

Frazier, Helium, Basketball

http://www.helium.com/items/1031084-what-are-the-best-teams-in-nba-playoff-history

The prompt I choose to review this week is what is the best teams in the NBA. This topic bring a very big debate around the NBA nation. The best article say that the Boston Celtics, because they had won 15 championship. They had have amazing player such as Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson, Bill Russell and many more. Even through I'm not a big Boston Celtics. I believe the author made a good point about the team. The 3th best article say the same that the Boston Celtics are the best team off all time. They also made other great points about how other teams were good during the 1980's basketball seasons. The last article talks about the Detroit Pistons, and how they were the "Bad Boy" of basketball. I will say the Piston were a very talented team, but they had to comparsion to the Boston Celtics. So I would have to say that why it's last.

Gooding-Helium-Rottweilers

The prompt I chose for my Helium this week was Facts about Rottweilers. I learned many facts about rottweilers that I would never have known. I had no idea that they were descendants of the drover dogs of Rome. When the industrial revolution happened many rottweilers lost their usual jobs to trains and cars. I also didn't know that rottweilers were used as police dogs. The best essay defiantly deserved it. The author knew her facts and how to make them flow into a well organized essay. The author used a sort of time line while writing her essay. She started with the historical facts and jobs that the rottweilers were accustomed to doing. Then she preceded to talk about what the rottweilers physical appearance looks like and the basic facts about the rottweilers. Then the author talked about what the rottweilers are doing now in the service world. I feel like the author defiantly knew what she was talking about and had great flow between each paragraphs. This essay was very well written and had many great writing elements in it. I feel like this essay deserved to be number one. For the lesser essay I feel like it could have had better flow to it. I feel like the author was sorta scattered brained and didn't really have her facts in the best order that they could have been in. Also when the essay should have been rottweilers the author started talking about labrador retrievers. I feel like the author didn't grasp the full concept of the prompt. I think that I would have focused more on the rottweilers and had more facts and better detail, like the 1st essay had. I would have used great detail and examples with this prompt. I would also have gone with the history and the basic facts of the rottweilers such as the first prompt had did.

Two different shows- Bradley King- StumbleUpon

I stumbled upon this picture and thought it was amazing. I was interested because it is so ironic that fireworks exploded the exact moment of as a bolt of lighting. Yea you probably are thinking the same thing I was at first, that's not that impressive. But after doing some quick research I learned that a bolt of lighting only last about 30 microseconds. So when you think about it no one could possibly ever time it perfect where fireworks will explode the same moment as a bolt of lightning. So I think this picture was just total luck. I recommend this page to my classmates not only because it is a amazing picture, but its a very ironic picture to. This page was not cited at all. I dont really have any questions about this picture.

E.Jones Helium Organizing Your House

The prompt that I choose to review for this weeks Helium Blog was about how and why it is a good idea to organize your house. It gave reasons such as it becomes why to cluttered and messy looking when unorganized to you do not want to have company and it effects your social life. I learned from the articles I read about some good rules to keep your house from starting to be cluttered. One article gave a good suggestion to get everyone out of the house and work by yourself without any distractions and find a place for everything in your house. If for some reason you are unable to find a place for everything, have a pile set aside for things you do not know where to place. This will allow you later to reorganize or either get rid of things you no longer need. Other articles gave places to start with, like the laundry room, to the living room to the kitchen.

The best essay I read used very logical steps and seemed very organized in writing. This made understanding and seeing eye to eye with her very easy. While reading about why and how you should organize something it is best to know why you should from the beginning. It made me feel more motivated and understood why she was blogging about this in particular. Some of the essays did just jump into how you should begin to organize rather then explain why first. For the worst essays besides being unorganized in writing I thought another thing that they did not do very well was the conclusion. Some of the essays seemed to bring up new points about why you should clean in the last two sentences. This is not very effective especially because these reasons were never mentioned previously to that.

If I were to approach this prompt, I would first make an outline with the reasons why before the actual how to portion of the paper. Some of my reasons that were not covered in my readings that I would include would be, things are easily lost when things are unorganized and you do not remember all the things you do have. I then would make sure not to bring up any major points in the conclusion to finish off my blog.

Air Tapping(Guitar)

Air Tapping is usually playable on any acoustic guitar. Air Tapping is the act of tapping lightly in distinct areas on the neck of the guitar which gives out the sounds of precusion and harmonics at the same time. This style of guitar playing has been perfected by names such as Eric Mongrain, who actually lays the guitar on his lap and plays the instrument as if it was a piano. Another guitarist who has perfect the art of air tapping is Andy McKee who was first discover on YouTube.com, and and now has many instrumental albums out for his fans. Guitar Tapping is a brilliant, but extremely complex style of guitar playing that takes years to get down, and though the learning process is time consuming the beautiful sound that will be produced from your instrument will be well worth the wait.

Hartley Helium Organizing

http://www.helium.com/items/1533959-how-to-organize-your-home-and-keep-it-that-way

This article caught my attention the second I read the title. I am a big organizer and cleaner. Cleaning and organizing are a big part of me. If im not organized, then nothing in my life is. The top article gave a list of ways to become and remain organized. The first was to tackle the laundry. Not only find the laundry room but find the places where laundry piles up and collects. Then organize with baskets, hampers whatever it takes to get clothes under control. Knowing where certain clothes are makes life a whole lot easier. The last advice the article gives is to make your bed when you wake up. It seems so cimple but has big rewards. Coming home to a nice clean looking bed, helps you not get stressed and make you feel like you have to clean when you get home after a long day. The other articles were mostly in support for the advice given in the first one. They backed up what advice was already given.

Cal Loveridge - Helium

http://www.helium.com/items/298400-eating-dog
This article caught my eye as quite an obscure topic. It is titled 'Eating Dog'. I have never even thought of eating dog meat but this topic explores the reasons why. The article shows reasons to eat dog because it's readily available, and cheap to buy in Asia. However, the article is very much against eating dog meat, and this is quite clear for the reader. the article makes a good point that a lot of humans see dogs as 'mans best friend' and a social companion for many lonely people. The work was well written, and paragraghed well. A few criticisms for me would be that it is too biased against eating dog meat, and there are too many rhetorical questions throughout the article. I think it shares the majority of people's views in the topic, but should look more into why a minority do enjoy eating dog meat.

Maryjane is the way to go-Helium-Rashawndra

I read about Marijuana might be good for you. From the topic, I learned that if you have certain cancers or illnesses than their is a great reason for you to smoke marijuana. It is legal in 15 American states as long as you have some sort of doctors notice to take it. The first article was the best because it had informational facts and links so that you can know the sources are cited well and are true so that you can visit them. Compared to the last article, which is the total complete opposite. She, the article writer, goes on about how the drug is bad for you, even if it is for medical reason which is totally biased because she presents no facts so it is just more of an opinion than something she can prove. The first article used the writing elements of clear and concise words when describing the cause of this whole topic that which they are talking about. The last article made the mistake of not including any evidence of which they are presenting, so the reader may think it is something that they do not need to read due to the writer being biased. If I were to write an essay in response than I would totally agree with the first writer. You do not need marijuana to just get high and if you do smoke it than you have to go to jail. Just as if it were cigarettes than the US government can easily put a tax on it if the drug to be legalized, simple as that. You do not need to sneak around if you are a sick person who needs the drug due to your cancer and than get thrown in jail. My opinion.

Helium ;; Katey Medlin 9/30/09

I read How To Tell If A Girl Likes You. I learned how a guy can tell if a girl likes him or not coming from a girl's point of view. The signs to look for. The signals to pick up on. The author did a real good job of speaking and having a good flow through out the essay. She also, made it interesting and fun. Some of the mistakes I picked up on was, grammar. Not all the works were capitalized, etc. I think that it would make a good essay promp, because everyone has a different opinion on if a girl or guy is into them, and what to look for when you think someone is into you.

Melvin- Helium- Ballet Teacher

For this week’s helium blog, I am reviewing articles on “How to Chose a Ballet Teacher.” As a ballet student, I understand that your ballet teacher can greatly affect your success as a ballet dancer. I learned from these articles that it is very important to check the dance background of the studio owner even if they are not your teacher. It can have an impact on the kind of people they hire. This week, I disagree with the article ratings. I feel that the lowest rated article is much more informative and straight forward than the highest rate article. The higher rated article is filled with “fluff” and information that I feel is not relevant to choosing a dance teacher. If I where writing and essay on this topic, I would focus more on informing parents about what to look for when choosing a dance studio for their child. For example, a suspended floor, positive attitude, and class size.

stumbleupon- The Times- water on the moon may boost nasa into 21 century space race

This article I stumbled upon is about the finding of water on the moon is saving NASA. NASA is struggling with technical problems and underfunding of the program. President Obama has set a goal to launch the space ship in 2020 with the cost of three billion dollars a year from the government. Doesn't that seem a little to much money to be spending on something that we have already discovered? Couldn't we use that money for something else like maybe explore more of the solar system?

This article that I stumbled upon was called “5 pressure points To Relieve Body Discomfort.” This is just like when you go to the mall and see the Chinese people giving the massages; they target these 5 target places. I have had one before and it hurts but it feels so good afterwards! They really know how to loosen up the pressure points that bother people the most. The first pressure point is the Heavenly Pillar, which relieves stress, over exhaustion, stiff necks, and much more. I need this massage done because I always feel drained out, and my neck always hurts! The second pressure point is the Heavenly Rejuvenation, which relieves nervous tension and stiff necks; increases resistance to colds and flu, everyone need this one done. The third one is the Crooked Marsh which relieves nervous stomach, anxiety, arm pain, and chest discomfort, the fourth on is the Inner Gate which relieves nausea, anxiety, and wrist pain, and the last pressure point massage is the spirit gate which relieves emotional imbalances, fear, nervousness, anxiety, and forgetfulness. I encourage everyone to get a massage next time they are in the mall and see the station. It says you can do it yourself but one, it would not feel as good, and two it would be hard to reach some places.

This next article I stumbled upon was about “Parents jailed over baby’s death.” A couple that relied on homeopathic treatments for their eczema-stricken baby daughter have been jailed over her death. Thomas Sam and wife Manju were found guilty of the most serious case of manslaughter by criminal negligence. Their 9-month-old daughter Gloria had suffered helplessly from a treatable condition and sentenced the pair to a total of 10 years behind bars. This is ridiculous that these parents were aware of their Childs problem but did nothing about it when they were BOTH educated about the topic and what was going on! I believe these parents should suffer just like they made their daughter suffer. I want to know why they would do such a thing to their baby? It is wrong!

The last article I stumbled upon was “Lurking Bacteria Raise Risks From Swine Flu.” Get ready to roll up your sleeve for another shot. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, already on guard against the flu, is expected to urge millions of Americans to get vaccinated against yet another dangerous lung infection. The CDC analyzed autopsy tissue from 77 people who died from the new H1N1 flu, and 29 percent were infected with flu virus and various bacteria, most often pneumococcal. The other article I read about said that they weren’t sure who was going to get the shots yet but when I was at work the other day, they were already giving the elderly the shots. So im just wondering when they made the decision to give them the shots first? I don’t really agree with the order they are going in but I guess I would have to learn more about the way the doctors or scientists are thinking.

The world without us- Bradley King- StumbleUpon

This page interested me because I have never thought about what would happen to the world if all human life just died out. As soon as I stumbled Upon this page I was curious what would happen 2 days, 7 days, and thousands of years after humans died off. I recommend this page to anyone that would like to read about something unique from most of the other blogs. The page is cited well. The author of the page has his name posted. After reading this page I have more than one question. But the one question I want to know the most is how would our radio and television broadcast still be moving outward forever?

It’s a world some people couldn’t imagine. I don’t understand it either but I know it happens. Especially precarious girls seek attention to boys through internet chatting sites. It may even go so far that they fall in love with this person without ever seen him. I understand nothing of it, but it happens. When they finally meet the person whom they chatted, this person often is a lot different than he described himself through the internet. I don’t think that’s strange, but still there are so many girls who fall for this type of attention. I think that’s a bad thing. They may get involved with people who are sexual assaulters and they force you to the things you don't want to do

I really liked this stumble. It’s so awesome that you can do so many things nowadays. Just look at these pictures. You used to have a normal picture and couldn’t do anything special with it. It was just the picture you made. Now you can upload your photo on a computer and do all kinds of stuff with it. You can change your original photo into something really special. I have never worked with Photoshop but I wish I did. When I see these pictures I want to know how they do that so I can change my pictures into really cinematic portraits.

But when I tried to put the right name in the country I figured out that I couldn’t remember a lot of them. I think that’s a bad thing. Especially because you hear these countries very often in the news, or you read things about it in newspapers. So many things happen in these countries and I can’t even tell what the exact place of this country is… I don’t think I’m the only one who don’t know were all these countries are.

Nicole Nixon - Stumble

The first thing i stumbled upon was Dynamic Periodic Table [http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2MLwzK/www.ptable.com//]. I think its really cool because it shows you what happens when you change the temperature and shows the isotopes and a lot more. If you were taking a science class you should defiantly see this page. The page is well cited stating exactly where the information came from. I want to know how long it took them to make that. If i were a science major i would try to research the periodic table more and go into more detail.

The next thing i stumbled upon was Flicker Photo Download Italia Genoa [http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#8brUn5/www.flickr.com/photos/33502065@N04/3240324979/sizes/o//]

I think the picture is AMAZING, it shows a giant mansion style house that is really pretty right on the water front. I think everyone should just go to this page just to see this house. The page is well cited saying who uploaded the picture. I am wondering if this is actually a real house or if not what is it?

The last page I came across was 11 Great Photoshop Photo Effects tutorials [http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2zU8VE/www.designshard.com/video-tutorials/11-great-photoshop-photo-effects-tutorials//]. I think this was really cool because i want to learn how to photoshop and this will help me or any other classmate that wants to learn how. This page was not cited at all. I am wondering if its as easy as they say or harder than everyone thinks to photoshop.

Kody Kuhn stumble#4

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#29rDNr/www.redrat.net/blackhole/earthlights.htm/

I chose this stumble because I thought it was sick nasty. I like how from space it shows how many light are on earth at night its just amazing . I would recommend this stumble to a friend if they are trying to do a project on what country uses the most electricity. There are no sources cited so I guess it is cited poorly. I would like to know what country is uses the most electricity?

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#4gN8sC/www.zigzagphilosophy.com//

I chose this stumble because I like to mess with cool graphic games like this. If you are trying to waste some time or just mess around and have some fun chose this game. This page is not cited at all which disapoints me becasue i was trying to find the website to play more games.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#1A4n0h/www.geocities.jp/deal_steal/inu2.html/

I chose this stumble because i thought these pictures where awsome and cool. I would recomend this to anyone that is a dog lover because these pictures are cool. This page is not cited at all but the pictures are awesome go check it out .

Ty-Best of them Blogs

After looking at my classmates blogs, I can say that their have been a lot of repetitive blogs like back to back. When I do my blogs, I like to do some that interest me and that shows something that I would like to enjoy or experiment with in the future. I have seen that my classmates all have similar blogs, even some that I have are ones that people have used. But we all have different ideas about what is going on in the text. That is what is different about all of these blogs, the differences of how we look at the stumbles.
Maybe if we did not do all the same stumbles than reading them would be really interesting but it is NOT so interesting when the same things are being said, so that is what the students(even me) have to look out for.
Seeing as how from the rest of the class is talking about this Emily G. person, I too agree that she has this type of flow about her writing. It just goes smooth about the topic that she is writing. So if this were some kind of best of blog competition than she would definitely win first place. I like that flow.
Bloging is a pretty cool thing to do, it may seem long at times but it`s alright in the end. I think it teaches you how to write about things that you especially would not write and think about. Weird articles or websites that we now have interests in are what we are bloging about so it keeps us focused with the questions that we answer.

Candace Flowers Stumble

1. The 20 Funny Restaurant Pun Names
What interested me about this page was the names of the restaurants. The names were very creative and will catch peoples attention. I will recommend a classmate to view this page so they can see the names of different restaurants and how a creative name and advertising can help a business. The sources are cited well on the web page. After viewing the page, a question I have about the topic is where are some of the restaurants with the pun names located?

2. 10 Things to Say to Keep the Peace (http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#1sbw18/www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/personal/01/15/rs.10.things.2.say.family//)
What interested me about this page was the advice that it gave. The 10 things that the article suggested can help somebody not get into a argument or to become offended about something. I will recommend this to a classmate because they may need somethings to say when a family member asks them an embarrassing question. The article also may help them to stay out of confrontation. The sources were cited well on the page. After viewing the page, a question that i may have is do these strategies work?

3. Sugar Stacks (http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#3vXFUy/www/sugarstacks.com//)
What interested me about the page was how much sugar is really in soda. It is a big difference when u actually see how much sugar the soda contains in front of you. I will recommend this to a classmate because if they are trying to eat healthy and stay on a diet they need to know how much sugar is in a can of soda. The sources were cited well on the page. A question that I have about the page is how do you know when you are eating too much sugar?

Weird animals-Justin Katz

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#8UHnid/www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/6041241/Rat-eating-plant-discovered-in-Philippines.html/

I found this interesting because i didn't know that plants can eat rats. I would recommend a classmate view this because it's different and interesting. The source isn't cited well, it just has the photographers name. After reading this, my question is what other animals can plants eat. I would further research this by googling carnivorous plants.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#1pzjTO/politics.sgforums.com/forums/1769/topics/367538/

I found this interesting because i haven't ever seen these animals before. I would recommend a classmate view this because if i haven't seen these animals before, chances are they haven't either. The sources for this are cited horribly however. My question on this topic would be why didn't they cite these pictures better? I would further research this if the sources were cited better.

I found this interesting because i haven't seen this lizard before. It looks like Spiderman or something. I would recommend a classmate view this page because these lizards are unique. The sources are cited extremely well. My question on this topic would be where can I get one of these lizards.

Stumble- Corey- Airplanes and more

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2IvrWp/www.sonnyradio.com/airfactory.htm/
This is interesting becasue I didn't know that this was possible to cover ground like that to hide planes. No works cited. I would recommend this for people interested int the wars. I would ask this author how to hide my house like that.

This picture of the little monkey and cat is interesting becuase they look so calm and not afraid at all. No sources cited. I would recommend this to people who love animals. I would ask the author how they got these animals to be like this.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2uUW3J/www.saynotocrack.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/stivers_pavlovs_dog.JPG/
This picture is interesting because the dog knows that what he does Pavlov is going to write it down regaudless of what it is. No works cited. I would recomend this for people who study animals or Pavlov fans. I would ask the author what made you think of something like this.

Stumble- Corey- Gay and such

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#1yfmx8/humour.200ok.com.au/gay-flight-attendant.html/
This is interesting because the gay attendant thought he could boss the queen of another country around. No sources cited. I would reccomend this to all gays and attendants. I would ask the author where he though of an idea like this.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#6tAgXu/www.metacafe.com/watch/3435120/the_coolest_guy_in_the_world//
This is interesting to watch all these stunts this asian guy can do. No sources cited. I would recomned this for all people who like to try stunts while doing flips and stuff. I would ask how long until you realized you could do all this stuff?

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#1mLvoM/abstrusegoose.com/strips/illusion.PNG/
This is interesting and also funny because the cow has no other way to go other than the slaughter house. No sources cited. I would recommend this for farmers.

Frozen Street
This stumble was interesting to me because i have never seen a street be that frozen not even when i lived back in new jersey. I would recommend this website to a classmate that is interested in photography and weather because that's hat the picture really portrays. The sources weren't cited very well. How would this street get that frozen in such little time ??

Street Installations
This interested me because it had a variety of pictures that were very odd to the eye. I would recommend this tumble to a person that like to sit down and think what the picture may be portraying. The sources weren't cited very well but it did come from a legit website called Street Installations. What would have made the person come up with such crazy ideas??

Nature Pictures

This interested me because i believe that nature is a beautiful thing that needs to be appreciated more. I would recommend this website to a classmate that is really in touch with their nature side and that is involved in photography. The source cited on this picture was from nation geographic. What do you think of when ever you see this picture ??

The Interesting thing about this article is that its the time and the clock is very different. No sources cited. I would recommend this page for people who love to keep watch on time. My question to the author would be how did you come up with a clock like this?

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2c4fsb/www.flixya.com/post/MysticBren/1417978/Sailing_Stones_Of_Death_Valley/topic:Weblogs

I stumbled upon a very interesting article about moving rocks in death valley. The rocks are mysteriously moving further up and in zig zags. Some scientist has tried to explain it by saying that at night when the ground is frozen the wind is moving the rocks and the movement of the wind makes the rock go in the zig zag motion. No one can really tell what is going on in Death Vally, but i think it is interesting how an inanimate object is moving by itself.

Court is not always a very serious place. I stumbled across a police testifying in court. The lawyer was doing his job and asking the cop a some question like every lawyer do. The lawyer ask the cop if he trusted his fellow police officer and the cop replied yes. The lawyer was trying to be a smart butt when he asked if the cop had a locker and a lock on the locker. The cop replied yes, and the lawyer then asked if you trust your fellow police then why do you lock up your locker. The cop replied "You see, sir -- we share the building with the court complex, and
sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room." The court burst into laughter and a recess is called. I thought that story was very funny because the lawyer brought that upon himself.

Last but not least I stumbled across a mass of Kanye West photos of him putting people down like he did at the MTV awards. I think they just need to stop because it is in the past now and if we keep living in the past then how can anyone move on. I really do no think it was that serious, and for what it is worth he said sorry so everyone should just drop it!

How to play defense- Did you know when you play basketball its all about defense. Defense is a big factor when you are playing basketball. When you are playing defense you have to be in a low position and also be ready to move with that person if you are playing defense. Another thing is that many players get blocking fouls if they have there knees out while playing defense. Defense wins games. When you are plaing defense on somebody you should always stay in there face so they want get around you. I think this is a good article for someone who is trying to become a better defender. I also think that everybody should read this article if they are playing basketball.
http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2wI8c5/www.articlesbase.com/sports-and-fitness-articles/improve-your-running- Running is a very good thing. The reason why many people run is to get into shape. As you know many people can't run as hard as other because someone might have asthma. But asthma it don't stop you from running or to exercise. When you are running you shouls exhale and inhale through both nose and mouth to set a pattern and rhythm. I think people should read this who like to run. another thing people who have asthma should read this article because it will gives you a lot of facts about how you should run when you have asthma.

Halloween Costumes- As you know a lot of people make there own costumes so they want have the same thing as everybody else. They also do these things to have fun and maybe to give them something to do. But i think poeple who like to do crafts and stuff should look this up because its a lot of nice things poeple done made.

How Fast? - Bradley King- StumbleUpon

Although I have already blogged on this topic I felt intrigued to blog on it once more. This article interested me because I have read about a similar article that left me wanting to know more. The article states something that seems virtually impossible. Some scientist see 5 seconds possibly in the far future as a 100 meter world record. Myself, well I never see that happening because that is over 4 seconds faster than the world record now. I would recommend this article to a classmate if they were interested in my first article "Is there a human speed limit". This is one of the top cited articles that I have blogged on yet, at the end of the article there is a list of web cites used to write the article. My one question is how would it be possible for the muscles of a human body to move as fast as a 5 second 100 meters?

The first thing I stumbledUpon was an image of a cow stood with 3 choices; one route straight ahead, one route to the left, and one route to the right, with all three leading towards the slaughter house. One the image is a writing saying “the illusion of free choice”. I found this image quite funny however it gave across a serious message
www.designshard.com/video-tutorials/11-great-photoshop-photo-effects-tutorials//
The next website that I StumbledUpon was a Photoshop website that gave you tips of how to create and change photos into cartoons. On a personal level I found this website very interesting and informative due to the fact I personally like to change photographs for occasions such as family photographs.
www.bearhaus.com/kithints.html/
Finally I stumbled onto a website about Kitchen Tips. This website gives you lots of different tips to help you to keep your kitchen clean, safe and healthy. This is very useful to any college student, especially those who are living off campus as it is often the first time that they have lived away from home.

StumbleUpon - Dache (09/28)

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#3gISJM/www.doctorhugo.org/gandhi.html/
The first website that I stumbled upon is called "the seven blunders of the world". This was very interesting because according to this the seven blunders are wealth without worship, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, worship without sacrifice, and politics without principle. I would recommend a classmate review this to gain knowledge of what some blunders of the world are. Sources are cited very well on this page. One question in my mind about this website is why do they have a half naked man carrying a newspaper?
______________________________________________________________________

The second website that I sumbled upon is titled "Taste-Spotting". This was interesting because it displayed lots of deserts, some which I have never heard of or seen. I would recommend a classmate view this website to get desert ideas and to get their taste buds flowing. Sources are cited very well on this page, credits are beside every picture. One question that I have in my mind is why arent some ingredients to these wonderfully delicious looking deserts posted on the site.
____________________________________________________________________
The last website that I stumbled upon is titled "Hanse Coloni rotor House". This site displays and talks about a rotor house in which looks very cute. I have never seen a house of this sort. Interesting facts about the house is that it is a space-saving house with a six square meter cylinder inside in which contains a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The cylinder rotates left or right bringing the room you want into view of the main living room. There's a separate toilet and a small hallway, and everything is controlled with a remote. I would recommend a classmate view this page to see a very interesting house, and to learn how decorating a small house can really bring it too life. Sources are cited well on this website. One question in my mind is how many people live in this cute house?

Nemethy Random stumbleupon

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#5jlBMy/www.xmission.com/~emailbox/trivia.htm/
I found this website interesting because it gave a bunch of facts on cats. For example did you know blue eyed pure white cats are frequently blind? or that the normal body temperature of a cat is 102 degrees? I would recommend this website to cat lovers or to someone who wants to learn something interesting. Sources cited by Glenda Moore.

This website give you helpful ways on how to save the environment. For example one way was to wrap your heater in a insulated blanket. If people were to put in a little effort to save the environment then the world might be a little healthier. The sources cited SEOL.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#5JdJYo/www.thisdayinmusic.com/member/birthdayno1.php/
This website lets you type in your birthday and shows you what song was a hit on your birthday. For example my birthday is June 20, 1991 and the song was Rush Rush by Paula Abdul. Personally I have never heard of that song. I think this website might interest musicians or people who are just simply curious. The sources cited This day in music.

the one in a million apple

http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#1Heer6/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/6229243/Million-to-one-apple-is-half-red-half-green.html/

One half of the apple is a red apple the apple we see most commonly, and the other half is a green apple. it splits at the stem, and is a perfectly straight line. experts say an apple split perfectly half green and half red is a one in a million chance. The red side probably tasteing more sweet from more exposure to the sun. I didnt know apples like this existed. They say its caused my a genetic mutation. i would be awesome if someone is able to figure out a way to mass produce this apple because i'd love to try one.

Hartley Stumble Dress up

www.stumbleupon.com/tag/fashion
Why dress up every day? This is what I asked when I read this article. I like my sweatpants and t-shirts every day for school but after reading the article, I realized that dressing up every once in a while is actually a really good idea. The biggest reason is because it makes you feel good about yourself and you won’t fit in which is really positive. Fitting in with the crowd does nothing for your self esteem and standing out will bring you a lot of positive attention.

www.stumbleupon.com/tag/300
300 grandchildren? I don’t think so! After reading this article, I honestly didn’t believe it but I guess it could happen. This lady has multiple children, multiple grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren and multiple great-great grandchildren. They all equal 300 all together. She recently died and all 300 except the few that couldn’t make it, made it to her funeral. They even all passed out contact information to keep it updated. This was an uplifting story that shows the heart of a courageous, hard working woman.
www.stumbleupon.com/tag/goodday
This has to be my favorite article of all the stumbleupon’s that I have read. It was so good. It made me smile and made me want to smile forever. The theme was “just for today…” My favorite was just for today I will care for others. This was one that meant that just for today I had to put my problems and cares away to care for others including my schoolmates and family. The main idea was to get people to think about taking your life day by day and it will make it easier. Also a really good thing to do is just smile. It makes you feel good and will make someone else smile too. It’s a chain reaction.

This interest me because when I like to be in a relationship I like to spend time with my girl and take her out to places. This was an interesting site because you do not see many apples in a tree where it is half green and other half is red. The apple looks unreal but believable. Sources cited OK. If you like interesting facts about food than this is a web page for you. I would ask the person who grows the apples how many months or days does it take for an apple to grow like that.

This stumble was not so interesting. It was not so fun of a game to play online. No sources cited. If you like to play online games than i suggest you visit this website. I would ask how long did it take to create a game like this one. Because the people could have done a better job making up a much better one.

This page is well cited starting with the page title URL, but it does not have a publishing date. 5. I wonder why there are not more apples like this?

Cal Loveridge-Stumbler

I thought this website I stumbled upon was so much fun. Basically, it has the sound of pretty much everything you can think of. The sounds vary from animals to mayhem, and from holidays to vehicles. I spent a bit of time looking for the more obscure sounds, enjoying sounds such as 'squish' and 'sizzle'. This link was able to amuse a 19 year old man, so I'm sure it would be even more fun with the younger generation.

http://www.moviemistakes.com/best.php
This website also made me laugh. It looks through the movies greatest mistakes, basically looking at parts that aren't possible, or just make no sense whatsoever. After clicking on the best mistakes link, I found some amusing ones. One of my favourties was from the Matrix, where Neo is being interrogated, at one point he is struggling, wheras a second later he is completely fine. When I watch this film again, I am going to look out for these little glitches.

http://www.pagetutor.com/idiot/idiot.html
Out of the three websites I stumbled upon, this one undoubtably made me laugh the most. It is a extremely simple design, and is titled, 'How to keep an Idiot busy'. Basically, there is a button which is labelled 'press' which moves whenever you put the mouse cursor near it. I could imagine whilst chasing the button, that many people would spend a few minutes trying to press the button, before finally giving in. This is my favourite stumbleupon I have found so far.

http:////www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2sdryK/copybot.wordpress.com/2009/04/07/the-50-most-interesting-articles-on-wikipedia
This blog was interesting because it made me realize birds can be smart too. I personally would not think they would be intellect enough to think of such a thing. I mean come on...putting your body against something to save your chickees, a little bird? Sources cited fine. I would ask the writer how did they find such a story like this one. I would recommend this article to those who believe in the abnormal of things happening with animals.
http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#1upXOa/www.shambles.net/worldclock/worldclock.swf/
So I press the stumble button and it lands on this world clock. How so not interesting, like I could really could care less. Not much interest in this stumble is the interest part. No Sources cited. My question, who would want to stumble about a clock. If you love time than this is the stumble site for you. Though the only cool thing about this clock is not like you can buy it in stores, apparently online only.
http://www.stumbleupon.com/s/#2sdryK/copybot.wordpress.com/2009/04/07/the-50-most-interesting-articles-on-wikipedia//
Ok so this site is not as boring as the one above, but it could use some improvements. I could also really care less about the best sites in wikipedia. Interesting maybe, but not interesting enough. If you like wikipedia than this site is all for you. Sources cited well. I would ask how did they come up with the different cites to be the best on wiki.

http://quigleyscabinet.blogspot.com/2009/09/animal-mummies.html I thought this site was interesting because it shows you what animal mummies look like. I would recommend this site to a classmate because if they had an interest in animal biology. no sources cited. How did they discover these animal mummies and where did they find them.

http://www.grguy.net/ This site was intersting to me because it shows how different animals look in different areas of the world., If that classmate had an interest in animals or photography. No sources cited. Is this photographer film or digital?

http://www.ezzal.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/two-birds.jpg Its interesting because its two birds sitting on a tree branch. I would recommend this site to a classmate if they were intersting in nature. No sources cited, How long did it take to get this shot?

An 2 year old tiger named tanvir, was scared to get down off top of a new 15ft (5m) activity tower at a North Somerset zoo after climbing it for the first time. when I read about what happen to the little tiger that was scared to get down i was shock that, that could happen to a tiger. they suppose to be fearless but i guess it does not matter who you are or what you do humans or animals get scared. you just have over come it. I think people in my class should read this is because they need to know the most fearless thing can be scared.

From the reflections in the water and the type of fish in the water, i would have to say that this is probably an man made pond for goldfish. The picture is beautiful and if you look closely you would be able to see other images reflecting off of the water. I can see people walk by in their colorful clothes, orange leaves that have probably fallen from a nearby tree and i also see an old man gazing into the water at the fish, this is more than just a picture it is surely a great piece of mosaic art. http://www.antilimit.com/

Wow, is this the future or what.
This picture looks like something out of an exciting science fiction movie. It looks as if there is a huge city extending forward inside some sort of protective tube. The laws of gravity seem to be useless as water is not sitting level with the ground, but it is sitting sideways, running upwards in the tube.
I would have to say that this image of the future may look cool, but I believe that in reality it wouldn't be a really nice place to live, there are a lack of trees, there couldn't be fish in the water and i love fish and there is no fresh oxygen flowing inside this place, there is probably filtered oxygen and everyone knows that filtered oxygen is bad for your health.

Love is a very stong word to most people, many belive this single word dose a lot of justice when it comes to other individuals. To me, I think its just another over rated, overley used word that people used just to get what they want or make a false impression in the eyes of others.
Hate is what 75% of the world has in there hearts.
Love is not just a word, but it is an action word that needs to acted out to reveal the true sence of the word and the quicker people realise this the quicker the world will become a better place. The picture above shows how love is surrounded by hate, it also shows how love is not being overtaken by the hate surrounding it. This simply means that when there is love nothing can stop it no matter how much hate there is. When someone loves something or someone nothing will get in their way to prvent them from doing what they love or getting what the love, but at the same time love is a positive action word therefore when someone says they love something which is not positive, they are not using the word correctly and they are confused, most times the people who say they love negative things are the people with the most hate in there heart and they usually never realise it. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2094/2252867966_f050676e4d_b.jpg

Ryan N. Sparks - stumble number...

Ecological Children Activity and Education Center / 24H > architecture
I stumbled acrosse this structure in an architecture website, it mainly peaked an interest cause I like architecture but secoundly because it is labled as an education center, but at the same time the first sentece calles it a 6 star hotel so never the less i was a bit puzzled. turns out this is indeed a hotel but they also call it an education center becuase it has many activites for visitors mainly the children. these activities are based on educating the visitors on the aera of Koh Kood, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. Where this hotel/education center is located.

Without us on the Earth, What traces of us would linger? What would disappear?

This was a very inivative stumble mainly becuaes someone was thinking of the would if one day we all, as a human race just dissapeared. They thought of what would be around and what would be gone within days months or thousands of millions of years from now. I think the coolest fact was the last one, in that after everything is dead and gone and caroded away our television and radio waves that we send out every day will still be moving out into space FOREVER. one thing i took notice of too was that they relayed a lot of things to New York and its subways or strucktures witch makes me think the person or persons who made this live in New York.

Million to one apple is half red, half green

O my god how crazy is this to think that that is real. This apple is actually half red and half green, said to be a one and a million chance, a genetic mutation. It is not thought to be a bad apple or not good for you, but a golden apple something to look at as a cool crazy happening.
