Sould dogs be indoor or outdoor pets?

In the article one person believes that a dog should live outside so he can be dominant of his own dog house and be protective. Whereas the person that believes a dog should be inside thinks that since a dog is mans best friend that the animal should live inside and be a part of the family and receieve more attention that it would outside chained or fenced up with no freedom. i believe that a dog can live both indoor and outdoor, it can be close to the family and protective, but also stay inside when necessary. My dog will growl, and bark insde, and outwen needed to. On the other hand some dogs are just indoor dogs and not meant to be outdoors. I also believe that dogs can recieve more attention indoors than out, because you know they are always there, i am not real big on chaining or locking dogs up unless they are left out so often. Just think about it would you lock your child up or chained up outside?
