"Best of the Blogs"-Bradley King
After reading through many of the blogs, the most interesting blog to me was Lauren Proffitts blog about the Reality of Winnie the Pooh. This blog interested me not because I am a die hard Winnie the Pooh fan, but what Lauren said in the blog. She stated in her blog how children are innocent. I agree with her to a extent. She then explains that if you tell an adult to put a bear, pig, tiger, rabbit, and a donkey together today that they probably would not come up with some nice child show as Winnie the Pooh. More than likely, and adult mind today would come up with something evil as the picture shows on Laurens blog. Another blog that was interesting to me was the blog about the baby that was born at 21 weeks. The article was about a British woman that had a baby at 21 weeks and the doctors just let the baby die. Because British laws state that babies born before 22 weeks are aloud no medical attention. But this baby only lacked two days of being 22 week. During birth the baby came out crying, and moving both arms and legs. This baby had a chance of living, but instead was left to die in its mothers arms. I think that this was a act of neglect and cruelty to the new born baby; that could still be living today if doctors would have just cared for the baby. After reading this article I gained a topic idea about writing on the broken laws that are found in our world. A law saying that you cannot give a baby medical attention when it has life is crazy. StumbleUpon is a great pre-writing activity that is easy to use. When you get assigned a topic to write on you can go on stumble and choose almost any topic you can think of. By using StumbleUpon you can find useful information about your writing topic by looking at it in many different views. According to my classmates one of the most important element of posting a good Helium blogs is to organize your thoughts well, were your readers are able to follow your ideas. So far I have really enjoyed using blogs as a type writing tool because unlike high school, us as students get to choose what we want to write about. Writing the blogs are helping me develop a interest in writing that I have never had before. I also think by writing blogs every week help me to learn the process of putting my thoughts in writing.
